Deryck “D.Rim” Rimson is not new to the spotlight and is a American record producer, songwriter, musician and DJ From Detroit Michigan, Southern California and southern New Jersey, near the Philadelphia area. A area that produced many incredible artists and composers that inspired Deryck’s Musical knowledge, from the Clark sisters, J Dilla, Jill Scott to Musiq Soulchild, and Dr.Dre and Dj Quik. Deryck’s Music career started at the age of three when his first love was being a drummer starting at his local church, playing on studio records in his later teens and opening up for artists at open mic events and after parties at the age of 17. His first endorsement deal as a musician was with a cymbal company out of Los Angeles, Ca at the age of 17 before his production career kicked off at the age of 18. When Deryck graduated from high school, he was accepted into musician’s institute music school located in Hollywood, CA as a undergrad for performance in percussion. When Deryck turned 20, He moved with his family to New Jersey to support his dad’s pastoral ministry in the Philadelphia area. 

 

 

With Deryck relocating for a third time, it inspired him to go back to college where he earned his acceptance at both the drummer’s collective in New York City, and Berklee College of Music In Boston, Ma. Deryck later on decided to go with being at Berklee College Of Music where he is now a alumni from the 2021 Class in Music Business and Performance Studies. Deryck Also is a sound designer and tv and film composer for two companies in the music industry. One company being under “Music of the sea” which is a musical composition company for tv and film that has placed music in tv series on Netflix, VH1, Fox and other networks. Deryck’s first placement opportunity was having music on the hit MTV show called “Catfish” back in 2016. In 2017 he also landed a composition placement in a amazon prime tv series, “Fifth ward” which featured grammy award nominated singer, Mya. 

 

 

In 2017, Deryck decided to work on his own brand by starting his own label “Rhythm Avenew Entertainment.” Which started with himself and his mother, “R&B artist” Terrie Rimson as his first artists on the label. With that Deryck released and contributed as producer, artist and featured artist on more than 25 EPs and Albums combined that were released on his label. Terrie Rimson’s Debut album, “Threads Of Love” Which released in 2018 was charted on the 10th spot on the R&B iTunes Charts in the U.S. and charted consistently in 4 other countries including, London, Japan, Italy and Germany. Deryck also had songs charted in Germany from his production/DJ album titled “Change Of Plans” that was featured on the third biggest hip hop blog site that is located in Poland. 

 

 

As a DJ, Deryck’s production skills was inspired his early DJ routine as a kid doing gigs at fashion shows to currently doing residency at skating rinks as a Monday night DJ at Millennium skate world in Camden, New Jersey. Now with a bachelor degree under his belt and a charting album as a producer, Deryck has been recognized as a voting member for the recording academy (Grammy awards) for his accomplishments and dedication in the music industry.
